Our Transition Program supports asylum seekers to safely reach their new communities. Almost all detainees are released from detention with no money, no additional clothing or toiletries, separated from family and friends, and with limited access to community resources. Our transition meetings are beneficial for volunteers who want to learn more about the ways we support asylum seekers upon point of release.
* This meeting is open to FOCD volunteers only (individuals who have completed the FOCD volunteer orientation).

Volunteer Debrief Meeting
- Tuesday, 7:00 PM PST
- Irvine United Congregational Church (Plumer Hall), 4915 Alton Parkway, Irvine, CA 92604
Our volunteer debriefs are a great opportunity to meet other like-minded volunteers. Volunteers are able to discuss their experiences, ask questions, share success stories and challenges, and provide support to one another. Topics covered include setting boundaries, self care, lessons learnt, deportations, and managing the challenges of the immigration system. We highly recommend volunteers to attend.
